We're High Pile Designs. A Denver-based, sister-owned, home decor company. After a trip to Turkey in February 2023, a new obsession was born - rugs.
This new obsession came with a lot of new learnings. The historical and cultural importance of weaving dates back thousands of years. Nomadic tribes used to weave high pile rugs (our favorite style…hence High Pile Designs) for protection against the elements. But, they were also woven by soon-to-be brides as dowries for their new family. Each rug tells a story and we’re proud to call ourselves ‘amateur rug readers’ after weeks of research.
Our biggest learning - this art is now becoming obsolete. Which leads us here. We felt strongly about bringing this art home to you and continuing its education and presence in homes around the world.
High Pile Design pieces are one-of-a-kind, handmade, and modern. Even though most of our pieces are +50 years old, these aren’t your typical rugs. These are cool rugs.
Everyone deserves to have beautiful, high-quality art in their home. It’s also important to us to give back to the creatives and those responsible for this art. That’s why for every piece sold, we donate to local women’s groups and nonprofits in Turkey. These groups support education, entrepreneurship, and other services to empower women creatives.
